I am no advocate of Marijuana consumption and would like to inform my readers that Marijuana is a drug and would request people to stay away from it. The purpose of this article is to let my readers know about the various applications of 3d printing.
You would be amazed to know that possession of marijuana is a criminal offence in many countries but in the recent years many countries including some states of USA have decriminalized possession and consumption of permissible quantity of the drug. God only knows the reason for it, but with legalization of drug there are many supporting industries have flourished.
Al and Saul Jacobs are budding entrepreneurs who have ceased on the opportunity to make some money from this budding industry. The company they formed is called Printabowl, the company deals with 3D printed water pipe better known as Bongs in slang language.
The company has released a collection of 3d Printed Bongs which they call “Cumulo Collection”, the company has made the new collection available for public on their website. Their website states “Printabowl reimagines elevation instrument design and production, creating practical pieces of fine art that challenge the limitations previously imposed by conventional production techniques.”
These deginer 3d printed bongs are made using Casted Fine Ceramic and consists of 10mm Lab Grade Borosilicate Glass Slide and Glass Downstem which gives it the elegant and futuristic looks. Taking about the design techniques uses to make these 3D printed Elevated Water Pipes the designers said that they were “guided by the design principle that complex forms necessitate uncomplicated textures and vice versa”.
Saul Jacobs explained futher “We think of these as pieces of functional sculpture. They’re made to exist and enhance the space we inhabit, not to be tucked away in a cabinet or in a shoebox under your bed. We’re excited to be a part of further introducing this aspect of counterculture into everyday life.”
“Cumulo Collection” consists of 3 designs Alpha which has minimalistic design, the Ferro which looks more like a lot of ferrero rocher stacked together, and the Tessellate which looks like an art piece from an abstract art studio. All these bongs are on sale for a price range of $300 to $325.
We really liked the design idea and the use of 3d printing for making simple things look beautiful but then again such design concepts could have been used to make a million things more beautiful.
