Assembled Printrbot Plus

The updated 1504 model has updated metal parts including, but not limited to: increased support for the extruder motor wiring, access to the Printrboard reset button, and a sweet “PB” logo on the back of the print bed.

The Printrbot Plus now comes standard with a heated bed and updated metal parts.

The Printrbot Plus is constructed of powder coated metal and machined aluminum with open platform for fabricating parts up to 10 x 10 x 10 inches using 1.75mm PLA filament. The printer head moves on the X (left to right) and Z (up and down) axes, while the heated print bed moves on the Y (backward and forward) axis.

The Mic 6 aluminum bed is extremely flat and works with an Auto-Leveling Probe with the user-chosen software to calibrate the height of the print head. The Plus comes with a 1.75mm ceramic Ubis Hot End. The printer uses open source software and connects to the computer using the included mini-USB cable. Using a micro-SD card (sold separately), the printer can be disconnected from the computer for untethered printing during long print jobs.

Linear rails and carts for stability and smooth movement of the print head and bed. The GT2 belt and aluminum pulley system facilitates precise movement of the print head and bed. The NEMA 17 stepper motors meet the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standard ICS 16-2001.

Printrbot Plus comes with Metal Power Tower with Metal Spool Rack to encase the provided ATX power supply.

My husband knows 3d printers better than I do, but I have had many printers come through this house over the years. And this I do know: it is the most beautifully designed 3d printer I have seen. It prints extremely well - so well, I am trying to figure out why others spend more on 3d printers?! If you need very large prints, this is your ticket. It prints in any filament too. Huge heated bed... it has it all and has a small footprint when compared to all the microwave oven-like competition. If you are a wife looking for the ultimate gift for your man - I recommend this printer.

Bought this a few months ago. Its been running non-stop since i got it up and running. 100's of hours without ANY issues. The design is one of the best on the market. Very simple, strong stepper motors and a build volume large enough to print almost anything you need. I've run mostly PLA including the wood filament with amazing results. As with any of the complex electromechanical devices you need to care for it. Oil the tracks and keep the belts tight. i simply couldn't be happier with this printer. love it!

I have been using a Makerbot Replicator 2X for some time now. But, the Printerbot Plus 1504 blows it out of the water in print performance and quality. I highly recommend this model. I am also glad that I chose the Plus model over the Simple for the extra print volume.
